About the position
Maven is seeking a dedicated and experienced Generalist, People Partner to join their growing People Team. In this role, the Generalist will be responsible for supporting non-exempt employees within the Care Delivery team, ensuring accurate processing of payroll, staying up-to-date with labor laws and regulations, and contributing key insights for growth and retention decisions. The Generalist will also assist with general people partner team processes, project management of annual people programs, and building credibility as a trusted resource within the organization. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in HR or equivalent roles, experience supporting a non-exempt workforce, high emotional intelligence, excellent communication skills, and a strong understanding of HR principles and best practices.
Responsibilities
- Support non-exempt employees within the Care Delivery team by being the first point of contact for all people-related inquiries.
- Collaborate with People Operations and the Payroll team to ensure accurate processing of non-exempt employee payroll, including time tracking, overtime, and other compensation-related matters.
- Stay up-to-date with labor laws and regulations to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements. Assist in the development and maintenance of policies and procedures.
- Utilize people metrics to contribute key insights to decisions around growth and retention.
- Execute general people partner team processes, such as new hire orientation, employee offboarding, org chart management, and being accountable for all general employee inquiries.
- Support the People Partner team with project management and execution of annual people programs, such as performance management, compensation review, learning and development, employee workshops, DEI+B, and engagement surveys.
- Build credibility through actions and interactions with Mavens to become a trusted resource and great example to all.
- Demonstrate ownership, proactively identify opportunities, and work autonomously.
- Establish rapport and engage manager and director level partnerships.
- Exhibit excellent communication skills in all forms that exhibit objectivity, empathy, patience, and diplomacy.
- Have a strong understanding of HR principles, employment laws, and best practices.
- Possess an entrepreneurial drive, ability to create order from chaos, and willingness to solve challenging problems.
- Have healthcare industry knowledge (helpful but not required).
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in HR Business Partner, People Generalist, or equivalent business operations roles
- Experience supporting a non-exempt workforce and understanding of compliance and policy nuances
- Self-starter with the ability to demonstrate ownership and work autonomously
- High emotional intelligence and ability to build credibility and establish rapport with manager and director level partnerships
- Excellent communication skills exhibiting objectivity, empathy, patience, and diplomacy
- Strong understanding of HR principles, employment laws, and best practices
- Entrepreneurial drive and ability to solve challenging problems
- Healthcare industry knowledge (helpful but not required)
- Base salary range for this role is $110,000 - $130,000 per year (for candidates in NYC, CO, or CA)
