About The Position

The Senior Associate will help shape how the Office of the General Counsel operates in an AI-enabled future as part of the Innovation and Strategic Operations team. The role partners with attorneys, business partners, and Corporate Technology teams to understand current legal work, redesign processes, and translate those processes into practical, technology-enabled workflows. It is a hands-on position at the intersection of legal operations, process engineering, and AI implementation, taking solutions from process discovery through workflow build, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement. The position involves documenting and redesigning legal workflows, translating legal and business needs into workflow requirements and implementation components, and building and configuring solutions in AI, automation, intake, knowledge, and workflow platforms. The Senior Associate also supports pilots and production launches, testing and quality control, stakeholder collaboration, user training, change management, and ongoing optimization. The role promotes experimentation, process discipline, and repeatable legal engineering practices across the Office of the General Counsel.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in process improvement, business process engineering, workflow design, technology implementation, business transformation, consulting, or a related function.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting process discovery, documenting current-state processes, identifying pain points and dependencies, and designing streamlined future-state workflows.
  • Strong process design and analytical skills, including the ability to challenge existing ways of working and identify steps to eliminate, simplify, standardize, automate, or redesign.
  • Experience translating business processes and requirements into working technology-enabled workflows, automations, prototypes, or configured solutions.
  • Hands-on ability to learn, configure, and build with workflow, automation, low-code/no-code, AI-enabled, or similar technology platforms.
  • Experience testing and iterating technology-enabled workflows, developing test scenarios, gathering user feedback, identifying issues, and refining solutions before and after implementation.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills, including asking detailed questions, reconciling perspectives, and translating between business users and technology partners.
  • Strong project ownership, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to lead initiatives from discovery and design through build, testing, implementation, and continuous improvement.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience applying process improvement, workflow design, or technology solutions within a legal department, law firm, financial services organization, or other highly regulated environment.
  • Hands-on experience designing, configuring, or implementing generative AI-enabled workflows or solutions, including practical use of large language models for professional or knowledge-based work.
  • Familiarity with AI solution design concepts such as prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agentic workflows, structured outputs, and human-in-the-loop processes.
  • Experience evaluating and validating AI-enabled solutions, including assessing accuracy, reliability, consistency, and appropriate human oversight.

Responsibilities

  • Lead current-state process discovery across the Office of the General Counsel by interviewing stakeholders, observing work, and documenting workflows, decision points, handoffs, dependencies, exceptions, and pain points.
  • Create process maps and workflow documentation that establish a shared understanding of current legal service delivery and support AI and technology initiatives.
  • Redesign workflows for an AI-enabled operating model by identifying steps to eliminate, consolidate, standardize, automate, or augment with AI.
  • Translate legal practice needs, business requirements, policies, and subject-matter expertise into workflow requirements, decision logic, prompts, playbooks, rules, and other implementation components.
  • Build and configure workflows in AI, automation, intake, knowledge, and workflow platforms, including prototypes and minimum viable solutions.
  • Partner with attorneys, subject-matter experts, Corporate Technology, procurement, vendors, and other stakeholders to integrate AI-enabled workflows into legal work and broader operating processes.
  • Design and execute testing, validation, and quality-control approaches, including test scenarios, expected outcomes, exception handling, human-review points, and feedback loops.
  • Maintain process maps, workflow specifications, configuration documentation, and implementation artifacts.
  • Support pilots and production implementations from discovery through launch, including requirements gathering, workflow design, configuration, user acceptance testing, issue resolution, change management, training, and post-launch optimization.
  • Assess workflow performance and user feedback after implementation and refine processes, prompts, rules, and configurations.
  • Evaluate new AI and legal technology capabilities by identifying concrete legal use cases and assessing potential improvements to existing workflows.
  • Promote experimentation, process discipline, continuous improvement, and repeatable legal engineering practices across practice areas.
