About The Position

Sr. Workday/UKG Application Analysts serve as a strategic liaison between Human Resources, Payroll, Information Systems, and business operations, ensuring Workday and UKG applications function seamlessly across the organization. This role requires a strong understanding of Human Capital Management (HCM), Payroll, Timekeeping, Benefits, Talent Management, Workforce Management, and technical systems. Analysts translate operational and business needs into scalable application solutions that enhance system integrity, automate business processes, improve operational efficiency, and elevate the employee experience. A significant portion of an analyst's day is devoted to resolving complex break-fix issues, performing routine application maintenance, monitoring integrations and system performance, and troubleshooting configuration, security, and workflow challenges within Workday and UKG. Responsibilities include supporting application upgrades and releases, validating business processes, testing new functionality, collaborating with vendors, and ensuring enterprise applications continue to meet organizational and regulatory requirements. Much of the coordination and follow-up for these responsibilities is conducted through structured communication channels, including Microsoft Teams, email, project meetings, and cross-functional collaboration. Sr. Workday/UKG Application Analysts also spend time partnering with Human Resources, Payroll, Benefits, Talent Acquisition, Finance, Information Systems, and operational leaders to understand business objectives and identify opportunities for process improvement. Their week may include project meetings, design sessions, implementation planning, testing events, and strategic discussions with business leaders. Throughout the day, they work directly with end users to resolve challenges, implement enhancements, and support enterprise initiatives. The Senior Analyst mentors junior analysts, promotes operational best practices, performs quality assurance and integrated testing, and coordinates complex projects across multiple applications to ensure reliable, scalable, and efficient workforce technology solutions that align with organizational priorities.

Requirements

  • 1–2 years of project management experience required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience supporting Workday, UKG, or other Human Capital Management (HCM) applications required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience configuring, implementing, optimizing, and supporting Workday and/or UKG applications preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Human Resources, Payroll, Timekeeping, Benefits, Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Workforce Management, and employee lifecycle business processes preferred.
  • Experience supporting application integrations, system interfaces, reporting, security, and data validation preferred.
  • Ability to analyze and translate operational and business workflows into effective enterprise application solutions preferred.
  • Strong experience using Microsoft Visio for workflow documentation, process mapping, and implementation planning preferred.
  • Experience collaborating with operational leaders and end users to identify and implement workflow improvements preferred.
  • Hybrid background in Human Resources, Payroll, Information Systems, or enterprise business applications strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex application initiatives, including project management responsibilities, while mentoring junior analysts and promoting operational best practices.
  • Provide technical expertise in the development, implementation, configuration, optimization, and support of enterprise-wide Workday and UKG applications, integrations, and cross-functional technology projects.
  • Analyze and translate Human Resources, Payroll, Timekeeping, Benefits, Talent Management, Compensation, Recruiting, and Workforce Management business requirements into efficient and scalable application solutions.
  • Plan, design, develop, validate, test, implement, evaluate, maintain, and support information system components that meet organizational and operational needs.
  • Perform quality assurance and integrated testing of enhancement requests, application upgrades, system releases, and new functionality to ensure application reliability and performance.
  • Coordinate projects across multiple applications while developing workflows, integrations, reporting solutions, and configuration enhancements aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Partner with business leaders, technical teams, vendors, and project managers to identify opportunities for automation, workflow optimization, and continuous process improvement.
  • Develop technical documentation, workflow diagrams, testing plans, and implementation documentation to support ongoing system maintenance and knowledge sharing.
  • Provide 24/7 support for assigned applications as part of an on-call rotation when required.
