About The Position

The Application Analyst III is responsible for configuring, testing, implementing, and supporting the clinical, financial, or administrative and/or other healthcare information systems used for the delivery of patient care and/or other supporting functions of the organization. This role oversees practices and processes to ensure the integrity, safety, and availability of all data and applications, supporting the goals and objectives of the customer as well as the business needs of Hoag. The position is responsible for planning and system development, project management, and application administration. The analyst must be knowledgeable about the organization’s policies, procedures, and business operations. They will evaluate problem tickets and service requests, customer requests for system changes, data retrieval requests, system performance problems and optimization opportunities, and participate in the timely resolution of these activities. The analyst independently resolves the most complex, multi-function application errors and other system issues. A primary responsibility is the build and maintenance of various system dictionaries, profiles, tables, and other configuration points. The role identifies system enhancement requests and works with the team to implement them as applicable. The analyst independently manages the full lifecycle of medium to large optimizations and coordinates with the vendor as appropriate. They test the system, including any configurations, customizations, and new releases, prior to production implementation. The analyst works with end-users to assist with the design and testing of system reports and communicates changes to end-users and other staff as applicable. This role leads or facilitates system design, validation, or remediation sessions. An advanced understanding of how the assigned application impacts other systems is required, and the analyst works with integration teams to resolve complex data integration issues. The role leads large projects and functions as a subject matter expert on complex, cross-functional projects, providing guidance to level I and II analysts. The analyst performs the above functions with minimal oversight and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience with the application, module or equivalent system as assigned.
  • Advanced knowledge of the assigned applications in at least one functional area.
  • Proficient with Microsoft office tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project.
  • Experience with Kronos Software applications required (Payroll Department only).
  • Current CA driver’s license for local travel.
  • All relevant application certifications and/or badges within area of support (IT Department).
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience with the application, module or equivalent system as assigned.
  • Experience with data query tools such as SQL.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Five (5) or more years’ experience with the application, module or equivalent system as assigned, including experience working in a Health Care Application Services department, preferably within an acute care environment.
  • Other certification with the application(s) within their area of responsibility and support (IT Department).
