About The Position

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a Sr. Anlst, Pricing & Est to provide strategic and consistent pricing guidance to Business Unit management for National and Local customer accounts. The role uses Pricing Excellence tools and develops accurate new and revised item estimates for the Corrugated Segment. It serves as a data-accuracy control point for the estimating and order-entry system, provides an accurate view of requested products and their material, manufacturing, and service costs, and acts as a local pricing knowledge expert. The position also provides analytical pricing and standard-cost profitability support and identifies, documents, and communicates margin-improvement opportunities. The role requires a thorough understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and equipment limitations. The successful candidate works with Business Unit management, sales management, and the National Account Team, and provides accurate information and quotes in a timely manner. The position is based in El Paso East, Texas, with up to 5% travel and facility visits every two months.

Requirements

A bachelor's degree is preferred in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Industrial Engineering, or a math-related discipline; relevant work history will be strongly considered in place of the degree.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, both internally and externally.
Ability to make independent, effective decisions.
Ability to analyze, design, and recommend margin-producing opportunities.
Strong knowledge of industry trends and best practices.
Ability to influence people outside the department and manage conflict.

Knowledge of and excellent computer skills.

Ability to undergo a drug screening after receiving a conditional job offer and before starting employment.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Manage and process requests for quotations (RFQs) in a timely manner.
Identify missing or inconsistent RFQ information and obtain complete, corrected information from New Item Data Sheets.
Create new item standard-cost estimates and re-price existing items when specifications, requirements, or manufacturing processes differ from those used in earlier quotes.
Use Pricing Excellence tools to provide Business Unit management with pricing guidance, including pocket price, cost to serve, rebates and discounts, freight, and total invoiced price per unit of measure.
Enter information about won items and changes to existing items into the Local Business Operating System.
Review National Account quote data when requested by the sales management team.
Interpret pricing analytical reports and create monthly tracking reports.
Define, document, and communicate margin-improvement opportunities.
Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and equipment limitations.
Provide accurate, timely information to the National Account Team and Business Unit, and create and disseminate quotes and information promptly.
Visit facilities every two months; travel may be up to 5%.
