About The Position

Fort Bend County is seeking a Sr. Administrative Assistant for the Public Transportation Department. This role serves as a liaison between the Operations Manager and other department areas for projects, meetings, and deadlines. The position handles incoming calls for complaints and compliments, audits submissions, and ensures information is recorded in SharePoint. It involves researching and investigating complaints, returning customer calls, and maintaining a compliment/complaint report for Monthly Business Meetings. The role also includes creating presentation materials, tracking contractor operations metrics, managing the department email box, sending mass emails, preparing client welcome packets, and maintaining contact databases. Additionally, the position participates in emergency management activities and provides backup reservation call support when needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 3-year job-related experience
  • Strong computer skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong math and/or accounting background
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the public, other employees and elected officials.
  • Valid Driver's License

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a liaison between the Operations Manager and other department areas for projects, meetings, and deadlines.
  • Handle incoming calls for complaints/compliments.
  • Audit submissions and ensure all necessary information has been recorded in SharePoint.
  • Research, investigate, and collect documentation regarding Operations complaints.
  • Return customer calls to describe findings and ensure complaints/compliments are closed promptly.
  • Create and maintain a compliment/complaint report for Monthly Business Meetings.
  • Create presentation materials for Monthly Business Meetings at the direction of the Operations Manager.
  • Collect and track Contractor Operations metrics.
  • Maintain the department email box, respond to emails, and forward them to the appropriate staff.
  • Send mass emails to the client database as needed.
  • Prepare and mail new Client Welcome Packets.
  • Maintain department’s frequent contacts and the Fort Bend Transit customer database.
  • Participate in activities related to emergency management during a local state of disaster.
  • Provide backup reservation call support when needed.
