About The Position
Interim Senior Accountant Consultant supporting a Regulatory Accounting team during a period of elevated close activity and SAP ERP transformation. This six-month opportunity calls for hands-on operational accounting expertise in a highly regulated, complex environment. The role partners with Financial Reporting, Regulatory Accounting, and cross-functional stakeholders on month-end close, reconciliations, and supporting schedules, with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and process stability.
Requirements
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally at the Accounting Manager or Senior Accountant level.
- SAP expertise and comfort working in large, matrixed organizations.
- Prior accounting experience in a regulated industry such as utilities, energy, or government.
- Ability to independently manage multiple deadlines, with strong analytical rigor and documentation accuracy.
- Proactive, detail-oriented approach combining manager-level judgment with hands-on execution, and ability to thrive in transformation environments.
Responsibilities
- Execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities in line with corporate deadlines and internal controls.
- Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, supporting schedules, and variance analyses for regulatory accounts.
- Research complex regulatory accounting transactions and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain audit-ready documentation and regulatory balance tracking to support compliance requirements.
