About The Position

The Accountant/Sr. Accountant manages financial activities within Magna Structures Tennessee, helping ensure accurate financial records, regulatory compliance, and analysis that supports business processes and efficiency. The role contributes to month- and year-end closing, reporting, general ledger and inventory processes, budgeting and forecasting, capital and tooling project tracking, cost-reduction programs, and preparation of the annual Controller’s Model file. It applies accounting expertise to ensure that financial records and statements comply with GAAP and Magna Finance Policy, and maintains compliance with Mafact guidelines related to Finance.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of ERP systems (CMS).
• Knowledge of GAAP compliance.
• Financial and variance analysis skills.
• Budgeting and forecasting skills.
• Reconciliation skills.
• Auditing skills.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
• Manufacturing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including OneStream loading.
• Prepare month-end journal entries.
• Prepare and review necessary financial reports, statements, and templates.
• Oversee general ledger maintenance and review the trial balance.
• Prepare schedules and monthly binders, ensuring Magna Minimum controls are met.
• Participate in inventory processes, including costing, cycle counts, standard-versus-actual cost reviews, roll-ups and reports, and verification of bills of materials (BOMs) on the shop floor.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting.
• Track and report capital and tooling projects according to Magna guidelines.
• Support the implementation and tracking of cost-reduction programs.
• Assist in preparing the annual Controller’s Model file.
• Apply accounting expertise to help ensure financial records and statements comply with GAAP and Magna Finance Policy.
• Maintain compliance with Mafact guidelines related to Finance.
• Perform other duties as required.
