About The Position

Ahern is hiring a Sprinkler Fitter Apprentice for work in the Appleton and Green Bay, Wisconsin areas. This is a five-year apprenticeship program in which apprentices work alongside journeyman sprinkler fitters installing automatic fire protection systems. Apprentices complete on-the-job training and five years of corresponding coursework toward becoming a Journeyman Sprinkler Fitter. Upon completion, journeymen earn over double the apprentice hourly rate. The employment relationship is governed by a collective bargaining agreement.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Clean driving record and ability to operate company vehicles.
• Ability to travel for the position.
• Must pass an appropriate drug screen and physical.
• Self-starter with a strong mechanical background and a good working and learning attitude.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment, both indoors and outdoors.
• The job entails considerable lifting and climbing.
