About The Position

Ahern is hiring qualified applicants for its Sprinkler Fitter Apprenticeship program serving the Appleton and Green Bay, Wisconsin areas. This five-year program combines on-the-job training alongside a journeyman sprinkler fitter with five years of corresponding coursework toward becoming a Journeyman Sprinkler Fitter. Apprentices install automatic fire protection systems. Employment is governed by a collective bargaining agreement. Ahern describes its apprenticeship as generally lasting four to five years and states that, upon completing this program, journeymen earn over double the apprentice hourly rate.

The role offers hands-on experience and mentoring from industry experts, new tools and technology, and work on projects involving fire protection, safety, and personal comfort. Field employees may receive personalized, regularly upgraded Ahern vehicles as they progress in their careers. The work takes place in a fast-paced construction environment, indoors and outdoors, and involves substantial lifting and climbing. The position requires travel and operation of company vehicles.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Clean driving record to operate company vehicles.
• Ability to travel for the position.
• Must pass an appropriate drug screen and physical.
• Ability to perform substantial lifting and climbing.
• Self-starter with a strong mechanical background.
• Good working and learning attitude.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment, both indoors and outdoors.
• Screening includes a background check and reference checks.
