About The Position

The Spotter safely moves trucks and trailers around the yard, positions trailers at designated dock doors, and supports shipping and receiving operations. This is a non-CDL position requiring strong backing skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to workplace safety. The role also assists with loading and unloading materials, verifying shipments, receiving inventory, and ensuring products are handled and shipped accurately and efficiently.

• Ability to follow safety procedures and operating instructions.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience spotting, backing, or maneuvering trailers.
• Experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, or material-handling operations.
• Ability to operate material-handling equipment, such as forklifts.

Responsibilities

• Safely move trucks and trailers throughout the yard and position trailers at designated dock doors.
• Back trailers into tight dock spaces, including areas with limited clearance between other trailers.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicles and trailers are in safe working condition.
• Verify loads, shipping documents, and paperwork for accuracy before shipments leave the facility.
• Assist with loading, unloading, staging, and moving materials throughout the facility.
• Receive incoming raw materials, components, and other inventory.
• Verify incoming shipments against bills of lading, packing slips, and other receiving documents.
• Maintain accurate records of received goods, damaged products, and inventory transactions.
• Use material-handling equipment, such as forklifts, hand trucks, and skids, as needed.
• Assist with preparing shipping documents, bills of lading, and other required paperwork.
• Support timely movement of materials to ensure efficient production and shipping operations.
• Follow company safety policies and applicable regulations, including proper PPE requirements.
