About The Position

Eberhard Manufacturing is seeking a Spot and Projection Welder for its facility in Strongsville, Ohio. This is a full-time, first-shift role responsible for performing welding operations on Eberhard products in accordance with print specifications to meet or exceed customer expectations.

The position involves setting up and operating projection welding, spot welding, and stud welding machines; making fixture repairs and other machining adjustments; preparing and welding parts; checking product quality; and completing cleanup and packaging tasks. The role also includes organizing fixtures, reporting needed repairs, and adjusting schedules for weld quality and new assignments. The stated pay is $24.31 per hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of previous job experience in spot and projection welding.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Shop math skills and ability to use measuring tools such as calipers, inside and outside micrometers, and height gauges.
• Ability to complete QICLs for product quality checks.

Responsibilities

• Set up projection welding machines, spot welders, and stud welding machines, using appropriate air and heat settings to ensure welded parts are held properly.
• Perform machining, primarily grinding, to repair fixtures or regrind Elkonite.
• Adjust schedules to improve weld quality and accommodate new assignments.
• Clean machines and parts when a job is complete.
• Return fixtures to their proper locations and inform the supervisor of fixture repairs needed.
• Assemble two to four pieces, weld them, and package them for shipping.
• Use schedule books to set jobs for proper welds.
• Complete QICLs to check product quality at different intervals.
