The Spot Welder uses resistance welding to join overlapping edges of positioned components and fabricate hollow metal door or frame assemblies. The role emphasizes getting the job done right the first time through quality workmanship, accountability, safety, and teamwork. The employee sets up and operates spot welding machines, maintains workflow by following documented processes, produces parts from the top-down production list, and performs first-part inspections and in-process quality checks. The position also supports continuous improvement in safety, quality, 5S, and manufacturing processes; communicates workflow issues; contributes feedback on quality and operational improvements; and maintains a clean, organized work area. Cross-training and schedule flexibility for overtime and start-time changes according to work volume are required. The role is based in a fast-paced custom metal manufacturing environment, with high noise levels, contact with metals and lubricants, exposure to moving machinery and equipment, and possible hot or cold temperatures in areas that cannot be temperature controlled.
