About The Position

This is a part-time position responsible for providing excellent guest service within the sportsbook. The role involves using the sports book computer system to generate tickets for wagers, verify and cash out winning tickets, and accurately maintain a cash bank. The Ticket Writer will also explain wagering rules, betting lines, odds, and sportsbook procedures to guests, while adhering to company policies and gaming regulations.

Requirements

• Must have cash handling skills.
• Must be 21 years of age and obtain a MS Gaming badge.
• Must have computer skills.
• Must have basic math skills.
• Must be willing and able to learn new system and all associated Sports Book operational requirements for the position.
• Must be flexible in scheduling.
• Must be dependable.

Nice To Haves

• Previous casino experience.
• Sports enthusiast a plus.
• Previous experience in race or sports book a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide great guest service by answering questions and relaying information in a courteous and respectful manner.
• Utilize sports book computer system to generate tickets for wagers.
• Verify and cash out any winning tickets.
• Accurately maintain cash bank and be responsible for balancing.
• Explain wagering rules, including betting lines and odds, and sports book procedures to guests.
• Adhere to company and departmental policy and procedures.
• Ensure accurate paperwork.
• Comply with MS Gaming Regulations and Title 31 policies.
• Maintain knowledge of property amenities.
