About The Position

Scheels is seeking a Sports Manager to join their team. This role is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining expert-level product knowledge, managing inventory, and ensuring a positive and organized sales floor. The ideal candidate will be a team player with a strong work ethic and a passion for exceeding customer expectations.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
1-3 months of related experience or training.
Ability to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Follow all safety procedures and perform job duties in a fashion that minimizes the risk of injury.

Responsibilities

Deliver exceptional customer service by seeking out and engaging with customers, determining their needs, recommending appropriate products, and promoting the Scheels Visa Credit Card.
Maintain expert-level knowledge in all selling areas and lead product knowledge training for other associates.
Consistently meet or exceed personal sales goals while delivering a high-quality customer experience.
Manage inventory by running and analyzing Internal Flash Reports.
Effectively maintain an organized backstock, ensuring merchandise is properly displayed and replenished on the sales floor.
Ensure product is accurately displayed to customers through price tagging, sales stickers, and signage.
Maintain a professional appearance, positive attitude, and team-oriented atmosphere.
Communicate professionally with other associates, the Scheels Campus, and Vendors/Sales Representatives.
Ensure work area is clean, organized, and meets safety standards.
Ability to perform basic math; perform operations using units of currency, measurements, and understand percentages.
Ability to work assigned schedule; may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Including product knowledge meetings.
