About The Position

This role exists to expand field service coverage in the Virginia region. The technician operates independently approximately 90% of the time and is responsible for diagnosing and fixing Musco lighting equipment. The job requires self-starters who can act without permission and take pride in their work. The technician will be given a schedule on Sunday night and will be on the road by Monday morning with a company van, parts inventory, and a work order queue. The role rewards individuals who are comfortable with changing schedules, such as responding to emergency dispatches when major venues go dark. The technician must be comfortable working at heights and completing all required field service documentation.

Requirements

  • Must have served in the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Reserves, or U.S. National Guard.
  • Clean driving record (MVR check at hire).
  • Ability to work at heights up to 200 feet; must pass height qualification within first 30 days.
  • Basic electrical and mechanical aptitude.
  • Valid driver's license; CDL Class A preferred but not required.
  • Ability to travel 200 to 220 days per year, Monday through Friday primarily.
  • Basic computer literacy for app-based scheduling and field reporting.
  • Pass drug screen at hire.
  • Post-high school technical education preferred; equivalent field experience accepted.

  • CDL Class A preferred but not required.
  • Military equivalent: Tower dog MOS/rates, vertical assault or rappel-qualified infantry, aviation ground crew with structure access.
  • Military equivalent: 12K, 35T, 68W with mechanical collateral, Navy EM, Air Force 3E, 2A series, Marine 1141 or 1142 (electrical/engineering).
  • Military equivalent: 88M (Motor Transport), Navy BM, Marine 3531.
  • Military equivalent: Any forward-deployed or field-service MOS with sustained TDY history.
  • Military equivalent: Any MOS requiring digital reporting or GCSS/SAMS interaction.
  • Military equivalent: MOS technical training or apprenticeship in electrical, mechanical, or construction trades.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and fix Musco lighting equipment on poles up to 100 feet in the air.
  • Document all work performed.
  • Respond to priority redirects and emergency dispatches.
  • Achieve independent daily field operation with zero supervisor accompaniment required within 60 days of onboarding.
  • Complete all required field service documentation within one week of each project or assignment.
  • Execute weekly assigned schedules with a completion rate of 95% or better within the first 90 days.
  • Demonstrate full height-work proficiency on aerial lifts and climbing poles up to 200 feet within the first 30 days.
  • Maintain a driving record and personal conduct profile that allows continued company vehicle insurability.
  • Respond to and execute priority redirects (NFL, MLB, and other major event emergency dispatches) within the required response window.

Benefits

  • Base salary: $65,000 to $85,000, exempt salaried.
  • Profit sharing: Company-wide, paid annually in March, based on prior-year profitability. A 60/40 split: 60% to the team member directly, 40% contributed to their 401(k).
  • Per diem: $72 per day average on a company-issued card.
  • All business expenses covered: hotel, fuel, mileage, incidentals during travel weeks.
  • Company vehicle: Company-equipped van with parts inventory, provided at hire.
  • All tools provided.
  • Travel pattern: Primarily Monday through Friday. 200 to 220 days per year on the road.
  • 401(k): Eligible day one. 100% vested day one. Company matches 100% of first 4% of contributions.
  • Medical insurance: Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield. Available first of the month following hire date. Low deductible plan ($500 single / $1,000 family) or high deductible plan ($3,400 single / $6,800 family). Alliance Select PPO (nationwide).
  • Dental: Delta Dental. First of month following hire.
  • Vision: Voluntary, team member-paid premium. Available at hire.
  • Life insurance: Group term, Company pays 100% of premium for team member, spouse, and dependents. Benefit equals one times total compensation.
  • Short-term disability: Company pays 100% of premium. Begins day 8 of disability. Covers up to 26 weeks. 60% base salary protection. Eligible day one.
  • Long-term disability: Company pays 100% of premium. Covers disability after 26 weeks. Provides 60% of total compensation.
  • Business travel protection insurance: Provided to all team members for domestic and international travel.
  • Parental leave: Child-bearing: 8 weeks at 100%. Non-child-bearing full-time: 80 hours at 100%.
  • PTO: 120 hours per year at years 0 to 4. 168 hours at 5 to 9. Increases with tenure.
  • Paid holidays: 9 days (New Year's Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, day after Thanksgiving, Christmas two days).

  • Education reimbursement: 90% of eligible expenses after 6 months of tenure.
