About The Position

The City of Ankeny is seeking individuals to help maintain the sports complex fields and grounds on weekends. This role involves field preparation, groundskeeping, and assisting with building maintenance. The position starts as soon as possible and ends in late October 2026.

Requirements

• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions
• Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods under adverse weather conditions
• Ability to establish and effective working relationships with co-workers and the public
• Must be 16 years of age
• Maintain a valid Iowa driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Maintains all field preparations including marking, dragging, raking, chalking, painting, and moving of goals.
• Makes regular rounds to inspect conditions, pick up trash, and remove debris from the sports complex grounds.
• Attends training and safety courses as needed.
• Assists in division building maintenance to keep buildings and grounds clean and neat appearing.
