About The Position

North 40 Outfitters is hiring a full-time Sporting Goods Lead in Havre, Montana. The role supports the overall customer experience by providing outstanding service, generating sales, recommending products, stocking and merchandising, and keeping the department clean and organized. The lead also helps lead and develop a successful team and safeguards company assets. The ideal candidate has retail leadership experience, understands and follows firearm compliance requirements, and has knowledge of or work experience with firearms. The position requires availability for scheduled shifts during business hours of Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Shifts may include weekends and certain holidays. Scheduling must be flexible based on business needs.

Requirements

Prior retail leadership experience is identified as ideal.
Understand and follow firearm compliance requirements; knowledge of or work experience with firearms is identified as ideal.

Physically lift and carry 0–15 lbs. continuously, 15–30 lbs. frequently, and 30–55 lbs. occasionally; team lift anything over 55 lbs.
Spend 100% of work time on feet, including using ladders, rolling staircases, and pallet jacks.
Be flexible in scheduling based on business needs, including availability for shifts across the stated business hours and possible weekends and certain holidays.

Nice To Haves

Previous merchandising experience is helpful.
Sales experience, merchandising experience, and computer skills are a plus.
Knowledge of or work experience with all types of firearms is ideal.
Prior retail leadership experience is ideal.
