About The Position

Westside is hiring a part-time Speech-Language Pathologist at its Lockport Clinic in Lockport, Illinois. The role provides pediatric therapy for clients from birth through age 18, helping them develop communication skills. The SLP will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team that includes occupational and physical therapists, clinical counselors, and ABA professionals. Opportunities are available to grow and specialize in areas such as Feeding Therapy and AAC evaluations. The schedule is Mondays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Tuesdays through Fridays from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Pass the Praxis Examination in Speech-Language Pathology.
• Complete a Clinical Fellowship Year.
• Hold an SLP license in Illinois or be eligible for licensure.
• Have a passion for working with a neurodiverse pediatric population.
• Thrive in a team-oriented environment.
• Be process-oriented with strong attention to detail.
• Be creative and playful, and able to make therapy fun while maintaining clinical excellence.

Nice To Haves

• Interest in specializing in Feeding Therapy or AAC evaluations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and implement treatment plans for pediatric clients from birth to age 18.
• Create client-specific goals focused on effective communication using verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
• Support and guide clients’ families so they can foster the behaviors and practices implemented in treatment.
