About The Position

PruittHealth is seeking a licensed Speech Language Pathologist (SLP), also referred to as a Speech Therapist, to provide care at the North Carolina State Veterans Home in Black Mountain, North Carolina. The role helps patients improve communication, cognition, swallowing function, and overall quality of life. PruittHealth provides post-acute care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, and therapy services. This is a PRN position. Requirements

Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an ASHA-accredited program.
Current Speech Language Pathologist license in the state of practice.
Foreign-trained applicants must have credentials deemed substantially equivalent by an ASHA-approved evaluation organization.

Nice To Haves

Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred.
Clinical Fellowship candidates considered where applicable.
Experience in rehabilitation, skilled nursing, home health, or post-acute care preferred.

Responsibilities

Evaluate and treat speech, language, cognitive, communication, and swallowing disorders.
Perform dysphagia, cognitive, and communication assessments.
Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to patient goals.
Monitor patient progress and adjust interventions as appropriate.
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and caregivers.
Educate patients and families on treatment objectives and outcomes.
