About The Position
CommuniCare Rehab, a member of the CommuniCare Family of Companies, is hiring a PRN Speech Language Pathologist at Lincoln Healthcare Center in Hamlin, West Virginia. Therapists are in-house team members who provide therapy directly to residents. The role may include treating at multiple locations and serving residents with diverse needs. CommuniCare operates 170 centers across Indiana, Maryland, Missouri, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid or pending state Speech Language Pathology license.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, review, and screen patient or resident medical charts and evaluations under physician order, and develop treatment plans according to patient needs.
- Plan, direct, or conduct rehabilitative treatment programs to improve communication, swallowing, and cognitive problems.
- Administer, score, and interpret specialized speech tests.
- Instruct residents, families, and caregivers on monitoring speech, practicing new skills, diet recommendations, and safe-swallowing techniques.
- Attend or lead interdisciplinary meetings as appropriate to relay clinical findings and make recommendations to other members of the rehabilitation team.
- Participate in family meetings and education.
- Treat at multiple locations as needed to serve the diverse needs of residents.
