About The Position
Sheppard Pratt School in Lanham is a nonpublic special education day school providing educational, therapeutic, and daily living services to students ages 5 to 21. Our tailored programs cater to individuals with autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disabilities, multiple disabilities, and other health impairments, ensuring each student receives the support they need to thrive. Requirements
- A master’s degree in speech pathology from an accredited college or university.
- Must have licensure by the Maryland State Department of Health and Mental Hygiene in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP).
- Six months of related experience, which can include in an internship or practicum.
- Will accept a Clinical Fellow
Responsibilities
- Identifying, assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, voice, fluency, hearing, and language disorders in our student population
- Providing individual and group therapy tailored to the developmental needs of students and complete quality documentation
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary treatment teams.
- Developing and presenting speech-language programs for staff development and training.
- Staying current with advances in speech pathology and special education techniques, especially in school-based settings.
