The role involves administering speech and language evaluations, diagnosing and planning treatments for various speech problems and swallowing disorders, and developing individualized treatment plans. Services are provided to clients/patients/residents of all ages with varying diagnoses and disorders, with a focus on those in post-acute, long-term care, and home health care environments when applicable. The position requires adherence to departmental guidelines, regulatory requirements, and accepted clinical practice standards. It also involves participation in departmental promotion activities and interaction with external stakeholders such as providers, case managers, and third-party payers. Supervision of assistants, aides, and students may be required, along with providing ongoing education to peers.
