About The Position

We are seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to join our team in the Utah County area. This role involves implementing treatment plans for clients of all ages to assist with cognitive, speech, language, feeding/swallowing, and social/emotional functioning. The SLP will conduct evaluations, interpret assessment results, develop plans of care with skilled interventions and goals, and create and implement speech and language treatment plans in collaboration with physicians. The position focuses on helping pediatric and adult patients improve their independence and quality of life, coordinating care with physicians and other healthcare personnel, instructing clients and families, identifying needs for other services, preparing documentation, and maintaining clinical competency. Mileage is provided for travel between patient visits.

Requirements

• A master's or doctoral degree in speech-language pathology (SLP)
• ASHA Certification or documentation of passing PRAXIS exam and completion of a Clinical Fellow/Externship
• Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) License in the state of Utah
• Active BLS certification
• Valid driver's license and auto insurance

Nice To Haves

• A minimum of 1-year clinical experience in Speech Language Pathology is preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

• Provides compassionate and high-quality care that meets the needs of the client and family by performing evaluations and interpreting assessment results.
• Develops a plan of care including skilled interventions and goals appropriate to the client's needs.
• Creates and implements speech and language treatment plans in conjunction with the physician.
• Assists pediatric and adult patients to develop or regain cognitive, speech, language, feeding/swallowing, and/or social/emotional functioning and improves their level of independence and quality of life.
• Coordinates care with referring physician and other health care organizations and personnel to ensure safe, appropriate, and effective care for the client.
• Instructs client, family/caregiver, and other organization health care personnel in the client's treatment plan as indicated.
• Identifies client and family/caregiver needs for other services and refers as appropriate.
• Prepares and submits documentation per organization policy.
• Maintains clinical competency in the theory and practice of speech-language pathology.
