About The Position

The ESY Program runs from July 6 - July 31, 2026, Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM. This role involves providing speech and language therapy services to students during the Extended School Year (ESY) program, aligning with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). The position requires implementing IEP goals for various areas including articulation, language development, pragmatic/social communication, fluency, voice, and AAC support. Therapy will be delivered in individual and small group settings utilizing evidence-based practices. The role also includes data collection, progress documentation, preparation of ESY documentation, progress notes, and service logs, as well as collaboration with ESY teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers. Consultation with ESY staff on strategies to support speech and language development in the classroom, support for AAC systems, maintaining a safe therapeutic environment, communication with families, attending staff meetings, and maintaining confidentiality and compliance with regulations are also key aspects of this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Communication Disorders, Speech-Language Pathology, or a related field (required)
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to follow established lesson plans and collaborate with the speech-language pathologist and classroom teachers

Responsibilities

  • Provide speech and language therapy services to students during the ESY program as outlined in their IEPs.
  • Implement IEP goals targeting areas such as articulation, language development, pragmatic/social communication, fluency, voice, and AAC support.
  • Deliver therapy in individual and small group settings using evidence-based practices.
  • Collect data and document student progress toward IEP goals throughout the ESY session.
  • Prepare and submit required ESY documentation, progress notes, and service logs in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with ESY teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to support student communication needs.
  • Provide consultation to ESY staff regarding strategies to support speech and language development in the classroom setting.
  • Support and implement AAC systems, including communication boards, speech-generating devices, and other assistive technology as appropriate.
  • Maintain a safe, supportive, and structured therapeutic environment for students.
  • Communicate with families as appropriate regarding student progress and strategies for continued support.
  • Attend ESY staff meetings and participate in planning and coordination as required.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with IDEA regulations, district policies, and professional ethical standards.
