About The Position
The Silver Lake Regional School District and Superintendency Union #31 districts are seeking multiple paraprofessionals to work in the Extended School Year (ESY) programs. The ESY programs serve students aged 3-22. Students participate in the program from July 7 - August 6, 2026, Monday - Thursday. Orientation and Open House is on July 2, 2026, from 8 am - 12 pm. For Grades K-12+, services are Monday - Thursday, 8:30 am - 12:00 pm. For PreK, services are Monday - Thursday, 8:30 am - 11 am or 9 am - 11:30 am. Staff start time is 8:15 am.
Requirements
- Ability to implement behavior plans.
- Ability to facilitate appropriate social interactions.
- Ability to assist with academic support.
- Ability to lift, transfer, and assist students with physical needs.
- Ability to assist with self-care.
- Ability to implement various teaching strategies/techniques.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Implement behavior plans and facilitate appropriate social interactions.
- Assist with academic support within the whole class / small groups.
- Lift, transfer, and assist students with physical needs and assist with self care, as needed.
- Implement various teaching strategies/techniques under the direction of the ESY Teacher, ESY Coordinator, and related service providers.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Paraprofessionals will be assigned by the Director of Student Services or designee to sites that best meet the needs of the students and programming.
