About The Position

BAYADA Home Health Care is seeking an experienced Speech Language Pathologist for a full-time or part-time opportunity serving seniors in 1–2 communities in Anne Arundel County. The role provides home health services to clients under their home health benefit, with visits based in designated senior living communities rather than the typical home health commute. The Speech Language Pathologist is an integral member of a multidisciplinary health care team providing rehabilitative care and skilled nursing so clients can receive the medical care needed to remain at home.

Requirements

• Current license as a Speech Language Pathologist in Maryland.
• Possess a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association; or have equivalent educational requirements and work experience and be awaiting the opportunity to take the ASHA examination for certification; or have completed the necessary work and education requirements and be accumulating the supervised work experience required for certification.
• Solid computer skills.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience with electronic medical records (EMR).

Responsibilities

• Make home visits to clients in designated geographic territories.
• Perform thorough evaluations to assess and diagnose speech, language, communication, or swallowing difficulties and provide therapeutic interventions.
• Develop treatment plans based on evaluations, physician orders, and recommended goals.
• Continually assess and revise speech therapy care plans and participate in multidisciplinary care planning with BAYADA clinicians, as appropriate.
• Educate and instruct patients, family members, or other patient representatives on rehabilitative care and activities that promote health, safety, and independent living.
• Accurately document observations, interventions, evaluations, and services provided using a touch pad tablet.
