About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Specimen Processor I to perform clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting, and data entry in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment according to established standard operating procedures. The role is based at 2525 E Royalton Rd, Broadview Heights, Ohio. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 4:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., with rotating Saturdays. The position supports accurate and timely laboratory testing by preparing, routing, identifying, labeling, storing, and shipping specimens.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Comfort handling biological specimens.
• Ability to accurately identify specimens.
• Experience working in a team environment.
• Strong data-entry and organizational skills.
• High attention to detail.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Nice To Haves

• At least 1 year of experience in a laboratory, accessioning, production, manufacturing, or warehouse environment.
• At least 6 months of medical or production experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
• Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas.
• Accurately identify and label specimens.
• Pack and ship specimens to the appropriate testing facilities.
• Meet department activity and production goals.
• Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples.
• Enter patient information accurately and promptly.
• Resolve and document problem specimens.
• Perform clinical specimen accessioning and sample sorting in accordance with established standard operating procedures.
