About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Specimen Processor I to join its team in Broadview Heights, Ohio. The role performs clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting, and data entry in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment, following established standard operating procedures. The processor prepares specimens for analysis, ensures they are correctly identified and routed, and supports accurate and timely laboratory testing.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Comfortable handling biological specimens.
• Ability to accurately identify specimens.
• Experience working in a team environment.
• Strong data-entry and organizational skills.
• High level of attention to detail.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Able to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Nice To Haves

• One year or more of experience in a laboratory, accessioning, production, manufacturing, or warehouse environment.
• Six months or more of medical or production experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
• Unpack specimens and route them to their respective staging areas.
• Accurately identify and label specimens.
• Pack and ship specimens to the appropriate testing facilities.
• Meet department activity and production goals.
• Prepare and store excess specimen samples properly.
• Enter patient information accurately and promptly.
• Resolve and document problem specimens.
• Perform clinical specimen accessioning and sample sorting according to established standard operating procedures.
