About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Specimen Processor I to join its team in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The role involves clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting, data entry, and preparation of laboratory specimens for analysis and testing in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment, following established standard operating procedures. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:30 p.m. to 3:00 a.m., with overtime as needed.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Comfort handling biological specimens.
Ability to accurately identify specimens.
Experience working in a team environment.
Strong data-entry and organizational skills.
High level of attention to detail.
Able to lift up to 40 pounds.
Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Nice To Haves

One or more years of experience in a laboratory, accessioning, production, manufacturing, or warehouse setting.
Experience with MS Office.

Responsibilities

Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas.
Accurately identify and label specimens.
Pack and ship specimens to the appropriate testing facilities.
Meet department activity and production goals.
Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples.
Enter patient information accurately and promptly.
Resolve and document problem specimens.
Perform clinical specimen accessioning and sample sorting according to established standard operating procedures.
