About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Specimen Processor I to join its team in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The role involves preparing and processing laboratory specimens for analysis in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment, following established standard operating procedures. The position also includes sample sorting, specimen accessioning, and patient-information data entry. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., with rotating Saturdays.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Comfortable handling biological specimens.
• Ability to accurately identify specimens.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Strong data-entry and organizational skills.
• High level of attention to detail.
• Able to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Nice To Haves

• At least 1 year of experience in a laboratory, accessioning, production, manufacturing, or warehouse setting.
• Experience with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
• Unpack specimens and route them to their respective staging areas.
• Accurately identify and label specimens.
• Pack and ship specimens to the appropriate testing facilities.
• Meet department activity and production goals.
• Prepare and store excess specimen samples properly.
• Enter patient information accurately and in a timely manner.
• Resolve and document problem specimens.
• Perform clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting, and data entry according to established standard operating procedures.
