About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a dedicated and motivated Specimen Processor I to join its specimen processing and accessioning team. The role performs clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting, and data entry in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment, following established standard operating procedures. The posting references both Gainesville, FL and Sunrise, FL as locations.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Preferred experience includes at least one year in laboratory or accessioning work, or in a production, manufacturing, or warehouse environment. Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for the benefits listed in the posting.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Comfort handling biological specimens.
• Ability to accurately identify specimens.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Strong data-entry and organizational skills.
• High level of attention to detail.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to pass a standardized color-blind test.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of experience in a laboratory or accessioning setting, or in a production, manufacturing, or warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
• Unpack specimens and route them to their respective staging areas.
• Accurately identify and label specimens.
• Pack and ship specimens to the appropriate testing facilities.
• Meet department activity and production goals.
• Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples.
• Enter patient information accurately and promptly.
• Resolve and document problem specimens.
