About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Specimen Processor I to perform clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting, and data entry in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment while following established standard operating procedures. The role supports the accuracy of healthcare testing by preparing, identifying, routing, storing, and shipping specimens and resolving specimen issues.

The position is based in Orlando, Florida. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 PM to 3:30 AM, with rotating Saturdays. Some overtime may be required depending on business needs.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Comfortable handling biological specimens.
• Ability to accurately identify specimens.
• Experience working in a team environment.
• Strong data-entry and organizational skills.
• High attention to detail.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Able to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Nice To Haves

• One or more years of experience in a laboratory, accessioning, production, manufacturing, or warehouse environment.
• One or more years of medical or production experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
• Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas.
• Accurately identify and label specimens.
• Pack and ship specimens to the proper testing facilities.
• Meet department activity and production goals.
• Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples.
• Enter patient information accurately and promptly.
• Resolve and document problem specimens.
