This position is responsible for overseeing and optimizing domestic and international transportation, supply chain operations, and freight brokerage activities. This role ensures efficient movement of goods, compliance with global trade regulations, and the successful negotiation and management of international contracts. will collaborate with internal teams, carriers, vendors, and clients to deliver cost-effective and reliable logistics solutions. Requirements

Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
Mobility: The person in this position needs to move between work sites and inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Effective communication skills.
PPE: Biohazard laboratory environment that requires use of personal protective equipment in accordance with CDC and OSHA regulations and company/departmental policies.
ARUP Policies and Procedures: To conduct self in compliance with all ARUP Policies and Procedures.
Abide by the Code of Conduct as outlined in the ARUP employee handbook.
Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Fine Motor Control: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.
Vision: Having close, far, and peripheral visual acuity to perform a variety of tasks such as make general observations of depth and distance.

Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate, and oversee inbound and outbound logistics operations across domestic and international networks
Optimize transportation routes, load planning, and carrier selection to reduce costs and improve efficiency
Monitor shipment performance, resolve delays, and implement corrective actions
Ensure accurate documentation, including bills of lading, customs paperwork, and shipping records
Negotiate, manage, and maintain international logistics and transportation contracts with carriers, suppliers, and third-party providers
Ensure compliance with international trade laws, customs regulations, import/export requirements, and Incoterms
Partner with supply chain team to review contracts, manage risk, and ensure favorable terms
Monitor changes in global trade policies and adjust operations accordingly
Oversee duties, tariffs, and compliance documentation to minimize risk and delays
Source, vet, and manage relationships with carriers and transportation providers
Negotiate freight rates and service agreements to ensure competitive pricing and reliability
Track shipments and provide real-time communication to clients and stakeholders
Resolve service issues, claims, and disputes related to freight movement
Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and warehouse partners
Collaborate with procurement, operations, and customer service teams to align logistics strategies
Evaluate vendor performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives
Develop and manage logistics budgets, forecasts, and cost control measures
Analyze freight spend and identify cost-saving opportunities
Establish KPIs (on-time delivery, cost per shipment, service quality) and report on performance
Ensure accurate invoicing, auditing, and payment processes for freight services
Lead, train, and develop logistics team members
Implement process improvements, automation, and logistics technologies (TMS, ERP systems)
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction
Other duties as assigned.
