About The Position
The Associate Manager, Specimen Management leads a team and oversees daily activities, operations, and performance to ensure departmental objectives are achieved to established quality standards. This role supports department growth, operational planning, process improvement, and cost-saving initiatives.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree is required
- 4 years experience in Specimen Management or related clinical lab services function
- Strong understanding of specimen management operations, methods, quality control systems, and procedures
- Knowledge of study set-up and cross-functional and system dependencies
- Demonstrated ability to guide, mentor, coach, and develop others while navigating operational and people-related challenges
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal clients, external clients, and global teams
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to delegate work effectively and coordinate team workflows
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects while directing team members and maintaining quality standards
- Other equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree
Responsibilities
- Lead the hiring, training, performance management, development, mentoring, and coaching of team members
- Establish daily operational objectives and coordinate workflows, resources, and staff coverage
- Monitor operational metrics and implement improvements that enhance performance, quality, and cost efficiency
- Maintain quality control systems, standard operating procedures, training records, position descriptions, and other required documentation
- Promote compliance with company procedures, regulatory guidelines, health and safety requirements, and good housekeeping standards
- Support capacity planning, budget planning, equipment purchase justifications, audit preparation, and incident trend analysis
- Partner with global counterparts to improve process consistency and serve as a point of contact for internal and external client inquiries
