About The Position

The A220 commercial aircraft Programme is looking for a Specifications Harmonization Programme Leader to join our Program department based in Mirabel (Québec, Canada). You will be part of the Competitiveness Management Team who is responsible for driving and monitoring all activities aiming at continuously improving the Competitiveness of the A220 programme. This covers commercial negotiations, redesign to cost activities, manufacturing optimisations and any other initiatives intending to reduce the recurring cost of the aircraft. You will be part of the MESH (Material Enablement and Specifications Harmonization) project and will report to the MESH project manager. MESH is a key enabler for programme financial performance (cost reduction, cost avoidance) and business continuity (supply chain de-risking and ramp-up). The team organization is established to promote cross-collaboration autonomously, supporting each other and learning collectively.

Requirements

  • You hold a university degree in engineering
  • You have at least ten (10) years of relevant experience in the aviation or industrial industry
  • You have a strong background in engineering and ideally in Materials & Processes
  • You have a deep knowledge of the A220 environment (ways of working and network) and of the Airbus Commercial environment
  • You have experiences in cross-boundary and cross-functional project management, ideally in Competitiveness or Harmonization projects
  • You have a strong technical understanding, and are at ease interfacing with and challenging technical orientations and communicating with executives while maintaining a collaborative environment
  • You have a strong customer focused approach, and have teamwork, leadership, influence, communication and interpersonal skills
  • You are at ease in complex ecosystems and capable of applying program management principles
  • You are proficient in French and English, in speaking and writing

Responsibilities

  • Structure and manage Specification Harmonization (SH) opportunities inflow
  • Identify proactively new opportunities (e.g., BoM screening); Collect opportunities (e.g., from Product Change Requests, interfaces with Multi-Functional Teams); Consolidate and structure opportunities; Prepare Go/No-Go dossier: lead technical part (feasibility and engineering effort) and coordinate commercial one (savings, business continuity).
  • Plan and lead SH cases executions
  • Drumbeat and monitor execution progress, Support technical problem solving (e.g., facilitate engineering workshops).
  • Report on SH progress
  • Update portfolio and KPIs; Prepare and animate governance (weekly and monthly); Support MESH project leader to prioritise opportunities; Contribute to MESH governance (weekly, fortnightly and steerco) and other governances (e.g., A220 Monthly Competitiveness).
  • Support SH process creation / improvement
  • Monitor “SH implementation process” creation; Collect return on experience to improve MESH execution; Suggest improvements of existing processes (e.g., creation, updates).
