About The Position

Amgen is seeking a Specialty Representative or Senior Specialty Representative for a Bone Health territory covering Hopkinsville, Henderson, and Jasper. The role serves as the primary customer contact, providing medical professionals with clinical knowledge of Amgen products and helping them navigate the payer environment. The representative implements marketing strategy and promotes Amgen products as directed by the District Manager. The role level and title will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience. Relocation is not offered.

Requirements

For the Specialty Representative level: Bachelor’s degree, or an associate degree and 4 years of sales experience, or a high school diploma/GED and 6 years of sales experience.
For the Senior Specialty Representative level: Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of sales experience and/or non-sales clinical experience in a healthcare or scientific field; or an associate degree and 6 years of such experience; or a high school diploma/GED and 8 years of such experience.
Advanced influencing and relationship-building skills focused on sales outcomes.
Adaptability in sales planning and organizing, leveraging business, industry, and technical knowledge, communicating with impact, driving results, and cultivating internal and external relationships.

Nice To Haves

Sales, marketing, and/or clinical experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, diagnostics, healthcare insurance, pharmacy services, healthcare medical device, or medical supply industries.
For Specialty Representative candidates, some experience, pre-graduate sales training, and/or a proven track record of successful leadership under pressure.
For Senior Specialty Representative candidates, 3 or more years of experience.
Product or hospital sales experience in oncology, cardiology, inflammation, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology, neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology, bone health, respiratory, hematology, or infectious diseases, including related diseases and treatments.
Local market knowledge.
Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration.

Responsibilities

Provide current, comprehensive knowledge of Amgen products and communicate their clinical benefits to medical professionals to support appropriate product utilization.
Achieve territory sales goals by delivering branded sales messages, conducting planned programs, scheduling and following up on medical educational programs, and meeting or exceeding sales targets through in-person and virtual engagement.
Develop and manage customer accounts by tailoring discussions to customer needs, supporting product access, resolving or triaging reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts.
Provide feedback on marketing strategy, analyze the effectiveness of sales activities and territory performance, and develop territory plans with the District Manager.
Partner with colleagues to share best practices and continue learning and developing in the role.
Maintain enthusiasm for Amgen products throughout the sales cycle, build the company’s brand, and remain focused on serving patients.
