About The Position

Cherry County Hospital & Clinic is seeking a Specialty Clinic Float Nurse (RN) to provide flexible nursing support across our Specialty Clinics and outpatient services, including direct care for hematology/oncology patients. This role involves providing nursing care across various Specialty Clinics and outpatient services, caring for oncology patients receiving chemotherapy, blood products, infusions, and supportive treatments. Responsibilities include performing patient assessments, medication administration, IV starts, phlebotomy, and venous access care, monitoring patients, managing treatment side effects, and providing pain-control support. The nurse will also educate patients and families about treatments, medications, and ongoing care, assist providers with procedures, referrals, scheduling, and patient communications, and maintain accurate and complete documentation in the EMR. The role requires collaboration with physicians, nurses, patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.

Requirements

  • Current Nebraska Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Oncology experience preferred
  • Oncology certification required/obtainable
  • BSN preferred
  • Strong communication and critical-thinking skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing needs and work effectively as part of a team
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, safe care for patients receiving cancer treatments
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and patient confidentiality
