About The Position

Axsome Therapeutics is seeking a field-based Long-Term Care (LTC) Specialty Account Manager to drive commercial activities across an assigned geography. The role executes marketing strategies to support a successful launch and contribute to patient outcomes. The account manager is responsible for territory-level product performance and serves as a disease-state expert, product champion, and account specialist. The position provides account management support and applies knowledge of the local marketplace to assess stakeholders and anticipate trends.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
At least 5 years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology sales experience, including 2 or more years in long-term care or account-based selling environments.
Demonstrated outstanding sales results, including Top 10% or Elite/President’s Club performance.
Must live within the assigned territory’s geography.
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and using differentiated resources to achieve business goals.
Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently under accelerated timelines in a dynamic environment.
Ability to thrive amid ambiguity and high expectations.
Strong digital marketing aptitude.
Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
Frequent driving, including extended periods behind the wheel.
Prolonged sitting and standing as part of daily job functions.
Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
Ability to reach overhead to close and secure liftgates or similar equipment.

Nice To Haves

Launch experience is strongly preferred.
Patient support services experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Drive product adoption in long-term care facilities.
Conduct effective virtual and in-person customer engagements.
Call on long-term care care teams and build relationships across the LTC ecosystem, including psychiatrists, neurologists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses and LTC staff, closed-door pharmacies, clinical pharmacists, case managers, and care coordinators.
Develop territory and account plans for targeted LTC facilities to meet and exceed quarterly and annual goals.
Promote products within approved labeling and in accordance with industry and corporate legal and regulatory guidelines.
Develop customer relationships by understanding customer needs.
Advise customers and staff on payer policies and processes, including eligibility and benefit verification, prior authorization, and appeals and denials.
Navigate market access and reimbursement, including payer requirements, pharmacy fulfillment processes, patient access programs, and reimbursement tools such as CoverMyMeds.
Use marketing resources to develop customer relationships and confidence in prescribing Axsome medications for appropriate patients.
Report territory activity accurately and promptly as directed by management.
Provide feedback to commercial leadership, colleagues, marketing, and other internal departments about changes in the environment and business results.
Complete required training classes in a timely manner.
Complete administrative duties accurately and promptly.
Manage activities within the assigned promotional budget.
Collaborate effectively across corporate functions.
Attend medical congresses and society meetings as needed.
Help ensure timely patient access through patient services and savings programs.
Travel overnight as business needs indicate.
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
