About The Position

Requirements

  • 18 years of age with high school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in relevant field or medium, including ability to demonstrate.
  • Minimum of 2 years teaching art classes.
  • Training, experience, or qualifications in the specialized instruction area.
  • Ability to effectively use technology for programmatic needs.
  • Obtain and maintain all new hires certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire.
  • Ability to plan, lead, and participate in classes and activities.
  • Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position, including leading class, walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, organizes and leads specific activities, routines and/or games for all participants.
  • Leads with enthusiasm and positive motivation in program.
  • Organizes and maintains program records including, but not limited to: attendance records, rosters, etc.
  • Manages all equipment.
  • Maintains a clean and risk-free environment.
  • Communicates effectively and timely with program participants and parents.
  • Ensures all children are picked up by a parent.
  • Promotes other YMCA programs by handing out brochures, answering questions, or referral to appropriate person.
  • Ensures compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Plans, organizes and leads specified activities for all participants.
  • Leads with enthusiasm and positive motivation in program.
  • Organizes and maintains program records including, but not limited to: attendance records, rosters, any replacement materials required, etc.
  • Manages all tools, materials, and equipment.
  • Maintains a clean and risk-free studio or classroom for instruction, and leaves it clean and ready for the next class.
  • Communicates effectively and in a timely manner with program participants and parents.
  • Ensures all children are picked up by an authorized parent or guardian.
  • Promotes other YMCA programs by handing out brochures, answering questions, or referral to appropriate person.
  • Ensures compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
