About The Position

L3Harris is seeking Systems Integration & Test engineers in Rochester, New York, to work on a dynamic team developing electro-optic/infrared (EO/IR) solutions. The role involves systems integration and test engineering for electro-optic systems used in airborne and ground surveillance. The engineer works closely with cross-functional teams in engineering, manufacturing, and program management to design, develop, and build high-performance systems. The position follows a 9/80 schedule: employees work 9 out of every 14 days, totaling 80 hours, and have every other Friday off. The role requires the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience; or a graduate degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience; or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.

Nice To Haves

Experience with MBSE (Model Based Systems Engineering).
Experience with DOORS, Jama, and Cameo.
Software development for test applications using C/C++, Python, LabVIEW, or similar tools.
System modeling using MATLAB/Simulink.
Knowledge of video transport and encoding, including H.264, MISB, and SMPTE standards.
Understanding of defense products for the environments and platforms L3Harris supports.
Ability to effectively plan and organize projects and manage priorities.
Excellent organization and multitasking abilities, including the ability to resolve conflicting priorities.

Responsibilities

Develop system integration concepts and test plan approaches.
Ensure system requirements are met and evaluate performance measures.
Perform system and subsystem integration, technical risk assessment, technical planning, verification and validation, and supportability analyses.
Design, develop, and release custom hardware and software test equipment.
Coordinate with Operations on production STE/ATE requirements, automation, and user interfaces.
Develop procedures and instructions for custom test equipment.
Manage STE upgrades for obsolescence and enhancements.
Maintain a library of preferred test equipment and components, along with common architecture standards.
Design qualification programs, including plans, procedures, and test equipment.
