About The Position

The primary focus of this position is to support the delivery of HR services and solutions to Markel Corporation. Support, triage, and resolve incidents and requests from employees related to HR systems and processes. Perform routine operational setups, transactional and system use support, analyze data and tasks dependencies for process improvement opportunities. Perform audits, ensure data integrity, support mass-uploads, generate simple reports. Develop and maintain job aids, reference materials, process documentation, and training content. Ensure testing of system changes. Provide support for global HR team strategic/tactical initiatives and new solutions and implementations. Proactively seek to understand new materials and solutions to build the base of organizational knowledge within Markel.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in human resources or related field
  • Minimum 1-2 years of HR systems or HR experience
  • Minimum 2 years of customer service or user support experience
  • Experience with ServiceNow or similar tools plus
  • Familiar with HR processes, data and system design, structure, functions and processes; good understanding of data/reporting tools.
  • Basic problem solving and tasks/data dependencies understanding skills; good analytical and root-cause identification skills
  • Proven customer service, communication, and presentation skills in a group or team setting.
  • Collaborative team member and participant on initiatives and projects.
  • Exercises sound judgement, actively practices and advises on confidentiality a must.
  • Ability to actively advocates for and educates end users on data accuracy and integrity.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Basic Teams skills

  • Collaborate across HR for adoption.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor tickets and investigate and re-assign or resolve requests and incidents related to HR systems and operations.
  • Provide high quality customer service to ensure needs are met.
  • Collaborate with functional and technical staff on the resolution, as needed.
  • Maintain all the procedural documentation and tickets handling map.
  • Develop a solid understanding and knowledge of Markel's organization and HR systems capabilities to assist global HR team with system user guidance and provide routine transactional system support.
  • Develop and maintain the HR system-related sites, job aids, reference materials, process documentation, develop and deliver training content.
  • Propose process or system improvements.
  • Execute operational system setup tasks and selected transactions, provide full-transactional support services to senior level management.
  • Maintain documentation on operational system setup tasks and transactions in scope of the HR Solutions support.
  • Support data integrity in accordance with Markel data audit and reporting needs by running queries, analyzing data, facilitating, or executing data corrections.
  • Assist in preparation of mass-data upload templates and files.
  • Support testing of system changes, including staging on-demand transactions, executing testing plans, developing testing plans, and facilitating testing issues resolution.
  • Assist global HR team with other testing or project needs.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of simple standard reports or data compilation tasks per customer or HR team needs.
