About The Position

The primary focus of this role is providing phone coverage while supporting patient scheduling and delivering excellent customer service. This position serves as a key point of contact, coordinating with patients, nurses, and providers to ensure efficient and accurate scheduling.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with UKG, Cerner, and/or Epic preferred
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to manage high-volume phone activity effectively
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, clinical practices, and insurance processes preferred
  • Prior experience in a healthcare setting preferred
  • Ability to learn and retain medical coding; ICD-10; CPT coding preferred.
  • Requires ability to interpret insurance information; knowledge of clinical practices and medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality customer service through phone-based support
  • Schedule patient appointments and coordinate with clinical staff (nurses and providers)
  • Answer incoming calls and direct patients and visitors appropriately
  • Facilitate patient flow from point of entry to destination in a timely and professional manner
  • Obtain and verify patient demographic and financial information to ensure accuracy and maximize reimbursement
  • Explain departmental policies, procedures, and charges to patients
  • Collect payments as required
