About The Position

Join a fast-moving, highly collaborative marketing team driving growth and engagement across Nationwide’s Retirement Solutions business. As a Marketing Management Specialist, you’ll help shape go-to-market strategies, elevate Plan Sponsor experiences, and bring innovative product and digital solutions to life for some of the largest retirement programs in the U.S. This role is perfect for a strategic storyteller who loves simplifying complex topics, managing impactful campaigns, and partnering across the organization to deliver measurable results that make a real difference in the financial futures of retirement plan participants. As a Specialist, you’ll help develop and execute integrated marketing strategies, coordinating day-to-day tactics across channels and working closely with internal teams and external partners to bring plans to market. We’ll count on you to manage timelines and deliverables, connect the dots across projects, and ensure marketing efforts are aligned, on-brand and driving business results. The Retirement Solutions Retention Marketing team collaborates closely with our business partners to grow and retain plan and participant assets. We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team and work alongside our business partners to drive awareness and adoption of our full suite of product and digital experiences. In this role, you will develop and execute go-to-market strategies that drive awareness, consideration, and action for our Plan Sponsors in alignment with business goals. This position requires strong communication and organizational skills. We'll count on you to coordinate various marketing tactics for execution and work with internal teams and external vendors to achieve business results.

Requirements

  • FINRA Series 6 required within 120 days of hire.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration or related field preferred.
  • Technical insurance designations such as CPCU, CLU, ChFC, FLMI considered a plus.
  • Additional licensing may be required to hold this position; and associates will need to acquire the required federal and/or state licenses/registrations within the designated time period.
  • Additional licenses/registrations may be required when new products and services are implemented.
  • If an associate fails to acquire required licenses/registrations within the time period designated by the business unit, the associate will be ineligible to continue in the position.
  • Typically five or more years demonstrated professional experience in marketing, strategy, consulting, financial services, or related field.
  • Proven marketing development and project management experience.
  • Ability to lead multiple projects and drive forward key deliverables.
  • Ability to influence at all levels and work effectively across functions and geographies.
  • Ability to use analytics to draw conclusions and make recommendations.
  • Excellent communicator, highly organized, and able to build effective partnerships across functions.

Responsibilities

  • Turn complex retirement topics (like SECURE 2.0, protected lifetime income, and digital tools) into clear, benefit focused messages for plan sponsors.
  • Support multichannel marketing campaigns (email, web, digital) that increase awareness and use of key retirement plan features and tools.
  • Create easy to use toolkits, guides, and educational materials that help plan sponsors communicate with their employees at scale.
  • Partner with sales, product, and operations teams to align on messaging, launch timelines, and sponsor facing communications.
  • Help improve digital experiences (such as signups and lead capture flows) to boost engagement without adding extra operational work.
  • Manage communication plans, deliverables, and project workflows so campaigns are accurate, on time, and well-coordinated.
  • Translate technical or regulatory information into simple, actionable content that builds plan sponsor understanding and confidence.
  • Collaborate across teams to gather input, connect dependencies, and ensure consistent, high-quality execution of sponsor campaigns.
  • Use analytics tools (such as Google Analytics and Tableau) to monitor performance, identify trends, and recommend improvements.
  • Support audience segmentation, data driven recommendations, and personalized outreach that strengthen plan sponsor relationships.
  • Assists in the development and execution of strategies and plans that ensure long term sustainable growth of the business.
  • Synthesizes data and uses this understanding to support identification and innovation of business building solutions.
  • Assists with the completion of moderate to complex projects and processes within area of responsibility to deliver results with multiple target completion dates and shifting priorities.
  • Assists with implementation of digital and traditional marketing tactics and media, including creative development process, planning and execution.
  • Collaborates on and assists with creative development and provides feedback on look and feel.
  • Uses customer insights and analytics and tools to understand and assists in forecasting market, competitor and customer needs and behavior, helps to define appropriate target audiences, evaluate sufficiency, and effectively get results with data-based decisions.
  • Monitors timelines to ensure programs are on strategy and on schedule.
  • Informs leader of any discrepancies.
  • May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
