About The Position

The College of Science at the University of Nevada, Reno is seeking applications for a Specialist, Marketing and Digital Web position. This position functions as a partnership between the College of Science (COS) and the Office of Marketing & Communications, but reports directly to the Director, External Relations & Events. This position is responsible for various types of marketing and communications-based writing, including writing for the Web, promotional materials, advertisements, video and other persuasive forms for the College of Science. The Specialist will be responsible for developing and/or reviewing promotional information for upload to the COS website and social media channels; maintain existing web pages and address web update requests from faculty, staff, and other stakeholders; providing marketing expertise to the College of Science Dean and faculty; design high-impact marketing materials that showcase the College of Science’s programs, research and impacts; maintain relationships with printers and vendors, and stay current on University-wide brand standards and guidelines. This role will collaborate with event staff of reimagining and executing events from a marketing perspective, attend Office of Marketing & Communications meetings and trainings and undertake professional development through study, training, conference attendance, etc. to maintain current education in the areas of digital marketing, brand management and visual design.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and two (2) year of related work experience OR Master’s Degree and one (1) year of related work experience
