Specialist II, Release of Information Operations
About The Position
Grow is seeking an experienced Release of Information (ROI) Specialist to help improve access to mental healthcare. The role responds to a range of release-of-information requests supporting clients, payors, and other requesters. The Specialist joins a remote-friendly team of ROI Specialists, reports directly to the ROI Operations Manager, and works with an ROI Operations Supervisor who oversees day-to-day operations. The team is growing to support an expanding client and provider community. This is a remote, full-time, non-exempt role with an expectation to travel two to three times per year, such as for company and department offsites. Base compensation is $25.00–$26.44 USD per hour and varies based on relevant experience, qualifications, and work location.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in Release of Information or medical records management.
- Tech savvy, with the ability to navigate EMRs and other systems, tools, and ticketing software to track work and communicate with teammates and customers.
- Team-oriented, adaptable, collaborative, and keen to cultivate positive customer experiences.
- Strong attention to detail and an eye for process improvement.
Nice To Haves
- Health information management education and/or credentials.
- Experience in mental or behavioral health and/or technology.
Responsibilities
- Process, log, and respond to inbound medical record requests from clients, insurance companies, attorneys, and other valid requesters within required timeframes.
- Review and validate request documents, authorizations, subpoenas, and records to ensure releases are accurate, complete, and compliant with federal and state regulations, HIPAA, and other relevant privacy laws governing mental health information.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and safeguard patient information in accordance with privacy regulations and company policy.
- Communicate with clients, Grow providers, and other requesters to clarify or obtain information, assist with records needs, and provide status updates.
- Collaborate with teammates on special projects, including broader chart audits, and serve as a resource to other Grow teams on ROI or records questions.
