About The Position

This role is for a Specialist Engineer in Electronic Payment Systems, acting as an architect and lead support for system modifications related to new features and functions for all Pin Debt traffic. The position involves vendor management of third-party vendors, creating processes and procedures for payment systems operations, patching, role swap activities, and disaster recovery exercises. The role requires collaboration with other production support teams to troubleshoot payment processing issues for pin and debt-based transactions, providing technical analysis for system roadmaps, and offering on-call support for after-hours activities. The Specialist Engineer will work with vendors like Fiserv, Kal, and Lusis to review application roadmaps and system upgrades, coordinating with business teams on delivery dates. A key responsibility is ensuring system compliance with PCI standards and internal regulations, and maintaining the design flow of Pin debt traffic as the lead architect for system changes. Telecommuting is permitted up to 2 days per week, and on-call 24x7 support is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in computer science, computer engineering or mechanical engineering or a related field and 3 years of related work experience.
  • 3 years of experience in Electronic payment systems.
  • 3 years of experience in Transaction Processing systems.
  • 3 years of experience in Secure and encrypted AES network communications.
  • 3 years of experience in Encryption key managing HSM or KSM.
  • 3 years of experience in Base24 Classic, Base24-eps, or Lusis Tango platform.
  • 3 years of experience in ISO 8583 message formats and global Card Schemes (Visa, Master Card, Amex and similar).
  • 3 years of experience in Card schemes simulators.
  • 3 years of experience in Testing large scale projects involving ATM’s (NCR, Diebold and Hyosung).
  • 2 years of experience in Architecture lead on designing and implementation of cards payment systems.
  • 2 years of experience in EMV card standards and supporting payment systems (ATM and POS).
  • 2 years of experience in NDC+/DDC to message formats.
  • 2 years of experience in Fiserv Star and Optis network schemes.

Responsibilities

  • System modifications for new features and functions for all Pin Debt traffic.
  • Vendor management of 3rd party vendors.
  • Create all processes and procedures for all aspects of the payments systems, including day-to-day operations, patching, role swap activities, and disaster recovery exercises.
  • Work with other production support teams to troubleshoot payment processing issues for all pin and debt-based transactions.
  • Provide technical analysis for maintaining and creating 3-year system roadmaps.
  • Provide on call Support for afterhours activities (Role swaps, patching, system upgrades, testing and troubleshooting).
  • Work with 3rd party vendors Fiserv, Kal, and Lusis, to review detailed roadmaps for application, system upgrades and coordinate with business teams to set expectations for delivery dates.
  • Ensure all systems are in compliance with current PCI (security standards council) standards and internal regulations.
  • Review and maintain the current design flow of all Pin debt traffic for HSBC US as the lead architect for upcoming system patches, changes etc.
