About The Position

Pathways LA is seeking a Specialist, CDE to join their Child Development Education team. This role is crucial for supporting families and childcare providers, ensuring the successful implementation of CDE programs. The ideal candidate will be organized, customer-focused, comfortable with diverse communities, and possess experience in child development or Resource & Referral/Alternative Payment Programs. The Specialist, CDE will implement functions of Pathways LA’s Child Development Education programs, including Stage 2, Stage 3, Alternative Payment, and Berendo Program. This position involves providing case management support to parents, working directly with participating childcare providers, and assisting with selected fiscal responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Two years of professional experience in child development.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with people from diverse economic and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and present information to groups.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience using client database software.
  • Valid California driver’s license.
  • Access to a reliable motor vehicle and ability to provide evidence of automobile liability insurance.
  • Currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in child development, Early Childhood Education, or a related field.
  • Two years of direct experience working in a Resource & Referral (R&R) or Alternative Payment Program.
  • Knowledge and experience with Windows and Microsoft Office.
  • Network experience.
