About The Position

Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Field Engineer/Construction Discipline Engineer (CDE) opportunity to support the Savannah River Site. This role involves providing field engineering support for assigned construction activities, reviewing technical documents, interpreting engineering requirements, performing field walkdowns, identifying issues, developing RFIs, coordinating with various project organizations, and maintaining field engineering documentation to ensure safe, quality, and schedule-compliant execution of work.

Requirements

  • Approximately five (5) + years of relevant construction, field engineering, project engineering, or related technical experience.
  • Experience supporting civil/site construction, underground utilities, mechanical/piping, firewater/process systems, electrical/ductbank construction, or similar infrastructure work.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Strong field problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.
  • Must be a US Citizen

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with large industrial, infrastructure, power, nuclear, or EPC construction projects.
  • DOE/Savannah River Site experience is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Provide field engineering support for assigned construction activities, which may include grading, earthwork, storm drainage, sewer, water systems, firewater, process piping, ductbanks, electrical systems, demolition, and associated site infrastructure.
  • Review drawings, specifications, work packages, procedures, surveys, and other technical documents to support field construction.
  • Provide technical interpretation and clarification of engineering requirements to Construction supervision and craft personnel.
  • Perform field walkdowns and verify construction against approved drawings, specifications, elevations, grades, alignments, and other design requirements.
  • Identify drawing conflicts, field interferences, constructability issues, and discrepancies between design documents and actual field conditions.
  • Develop and coordinate RFIs, technical questions, field changes, and resolution of construction issues.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Construction, Quality, Safety, Project Controls, subcontractors, and other project organizations.
  • Support material takeoffs, quantity verification, work planning, installation sequencing, testing, turnover, and construction closeout activities.
  • Maintain appropriate field engineering documentation and support safe, quality, and schedule-compliant execution of work.
