About The Position

This is a volunteer, remote role for individuals passionate about advocacy, looking to build their professional portfolio while fighting for victims of abuse. The role is mission-driven, allowing for the application of classroom knowledge to real-world advocacy and organizational growth in a remote setting that values independent initiative and digital collaboration. The organization, Abuse Refuge Org (ARO), focuses on championing 28 areas of abuse and offers six abuse protocols and services. Volunteers will interact worldwide with others who share a passion for making a difference and have opportunities for skill development, cross-training, leadership, mentoring, and career advancement.

Requirements

Completed or working towards a college degree in a related field (e.g., business administration, nonprofit management, social entrepreneurship, marketing, counseling, or other relevant majors).
Effective communicator, both written and oral.
Detail-oriented, proactive, with a love for organization and administration.
Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Must be exceedingly well organized, reliable, proactive, flexible, and dedicated to assisting in a support role.
Proficient in social media including LinkedIn, Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok.
Must be available to volunteer 10+ hours a week (minimum of 2 logged hours per day).
Must be available to volunteer 6+ months.

Nice To Haves

Previous internship or related experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Volunteer a minimum of 10 hours per week, with at least 2 logged hours per day.
Commit to volunteering for a minimum of 6 months.
Complete Google Classroom modules as assigned by the department Supervisor.
Share, like, and comment on ARO's social media channels daily.
Work autonomously and effectively in collective collaboration on assignments.
Design and implement monthly fundraisers (if applicable).
Maintain high productivity and meet all project deadlines while operating remotely.
Possess a highly functional computer and adequate Wi-Fi.
Attend monthly company meetings and department meetings (if applicable).
Maintain professionalism and a high standard of conduct at all times.
Actively engage with the organization's social media platforms by liking, sharing, or commenting on posts to help spread awareness of the mission and initiatives.
